About Oreana Rose
Hi, my name is Jenna but I go by Oreana Rose on the web. I'm a Canadian web designer, coder and graphic artist. I've been around since '86 and making websites since '99. I love the challenge of completing a web project from planning to finish, with all the problem-solving, designing, and coding in between!
A plain text site would never do, so over the years I've sought out the answers to create the visual and interactive effects I was mesmerized by on the web. My skills now include writing valid XHTML and CSS and using Adobe's CS4 suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, InDesign) to create websites, logos and print projects. After a year of formal training I am now happily employed at a graphic and web design boutique in Saskatchewan. I'm continuing to learn PHP, MySQL and Javascript and am keeping an eye on web trends and technologies.

For the first serious design of my personal site I looked to my past work for inspiration, trying to find 'my style'. If you see my old portfolio in

Second site made for a client. They are a small theatre company in Canada who have done work in Saskatoon and Toronto.
We ♥ J-Rock
My favorite project from school. The subject could be whatever we wanted, so I chose my favorite music.
La Vie en Rose magazine
(Not to be confused with the lingerie store.) This was the first site I made for a client. It was pro-bono work for a fashion magazine that looked promising but only had two issues. I also did some illustrations for the magazine.
What's New & What's Next
It's been a while since I've tried my hand at blogging: I will be setting up a blog where I plan to share resources, web design tips and tidbits, tutorials, freebies, wallpapers – basically anything design-related that I can create content for. Watch for updates at @Rocknroses on Twitter. (I will eventually also split my unrelated tweets into a separate account in case people are tired of my babble.)
A makeover is in the works as of November 2009! I will be turning the site into something more professional where I may begin to offer my services beginning next year.
